Frequently Asked Questions

I'm loving my work here! Can I apply for a green card while on an E-3 visa?

Yes! At Nucleus Healthcare, we support your long-term career goals. E-3 visa holders can indeed pursue permanent residency. While the process has its intricacies, our team is here to help guide you through it.

How long can I continue my rewarding healthcare career here on an E-3 visa?

Great question! The E-3 visa is initially valid for 2 years, and the best part? It can be renewed indefinitely! As long as you maintain your employment in a qualifying healthcare role with Nucleus Healthcare or another approved employer, you can continue your journey.

If a better opportunity arises, can I switch employers while on an E-3 visa?

Yes, you can! Your career growth is our priority. If you find a new opportunity, your new employer will need to file a new Labor Condition Application (LCA). Then, you can either apply for a new E-3 visa at a U.S. consulate or change your status from within the U.S. We are happy to help you through this process.

Is there a minimum salary requirement for the E-3 visa?

Yes, there is. Your U.S. employer must pay you the prevailing wage for your healthcare occupation in your work location, as outlined in the Labor Condition Application (LCA). Nucleus Healthcare always ensures our professionals receive fair and competitive compensation.

My spouse is eager to join me. Can they work in the U.S.?

Absolutely! We know family is important. Spouses of E-3 visa holders can apply for work authorization via Form I-765. Once approved, they're free to pursue employment with any U.S. employer. We can help provide resources to your spouse, to assist in their own career goals.

I've heard the H-1B visa is tough to get. Is the E-3 just as competitive?

Good news! The E-3 visa is much more accessible. Unlike the H-1B, it's not subject to a cap or lottery, making it a smoother process for our talented Australian healthcare professionals.

I'd like to visit home. Can I travel outside the U.S. with my E-3 visa?

Of course! You can travel freely as long as your visa remains valid. Just remember, if your E-3 visa expires while you're abroad, you'll need to apply for a new one before re-entering the U.S.

What happens if my employment ends? How much time do I have?

We understand that transitions can happen. You're granted a 60-day grace period to find a new position, adjust your visa status, or make arrangements to depart the U.S. We will always attempt to find you a new position within the Nucleus Healthcare family.
