They have not been used. I did wash them with the Artis cleaning kit because they were stored with my other makeup brushes. I have listed them as like new since they have not been used, but we're cleaned.I keep my brushes in makeup storage drawers, never out in the open.I laid them on a paper towel for photos so they were not directly on the table. superb for everyday use. excellent materials and excellent craftsmanship ensure long-lasting durability.
